Introductions

Hi everybody, Spec has asked me to create a blog to share my irreverent life, loves and views with you all out there in the electronic world. I thought a few introductions were in order before the crazy world that is my mind is unleashed upon an unsuspecting world.


I am someone with over 34 years of "experience" (I do things I like lol) in all things nerd, having first dipped my toes into the world of dungeons and dragons at the tender age of 10, getting into games workshop with my first purchase in a GW store being a beautiful copy of advanced Heroquest in the early 90's and a love for all things comic beginning around the same time with purchases of Archie and horror comics with my measly pocket money each week. 


Soon, as we all know with nerdom, I was totally and utterly engrossed in the hobby, well I say hobby but the life of a nerd is a many-branched tree, everything springing from a central core of loving fantasy, films and books sparking a love that has lasted my entire life.


Aside from my love of nerdom,  I also have a degree in Brewing and Distilling which has led to my adult life being guided by an appreciation of all things alcoholic, from raspberry vodkas to the very best Belgium tripels I have a fond connection to remarkable beverages, with, like a lot of adults, an innate connection between adult life and escapades with alcohol.


I feel that the way I will try and operate this blog is that I will convey stories and musings from my life. Hopefully, this will be humorous, engaging and at the very least a little bit entertaining, if not I'm always open to criticism and/or suggestions in my comments.

Tabletop roleplaying games (TTRPGs) have been around for decades and have seen a surge in popularity in recent years. When I was younger the hobby was a very particular niche which led to the stereotype of the bookish, stickler-for-detail nerd. Nowadays this has changed to be more inclusive and attracts people from all demographics, young, and old, it doesn't matter everyone seems to be giving TTRPGs a try and I am overjoyed to see such an influx of people looking to the hobby. The great thing about the hobby is that it offers a unique and immersive experience where players create their own stories and characters, and take part in thrilling adventures. If you're new to tabletop RPGs, getting started can be intimidating, but fear not, I will outline a guide to what I feel will help you get started on your TTRPG journey!
